In 2008, Adams12 School District (near Denver, Colorado) used eminent domain to condemn and take a building belonging to Denver business, Auto-trol. The School district, after taking the building and forcing the company to move out, decided they did not want the building after all. It costs the business millions of dollars in damages and lost value to the building. Auto-trol has filed suit in Adams County to seek compensation. This ran on Channel 7 in Denver on May 26, 2010.
